Josh's Story

On Tuesday, September 27, 2011, Josh was injured in an accident at St. George Steel, his place of work. There was an equipment malfunction that caused Josh's abdomen to be squished and also caused him to fall about 25 feet to the ground. According to CT scans and MRI's, Josh did not sustain any injuries to his brain or spinal cord. He does have a bulged disk in his neck. Most of Josh's injuries were internal, other than a few broken ribs. The ICU team at Dixie Regional Medical Center River Road Campus has worked miracles in helping Josh to recover from his injuries. Josh graduated from the ICU on Wednesday, October 26, 2011, after spending 4 weeks and 1 day in the ICU. Josh was moved to Promise Hospital in Salt Lake City. Promise is a long term acute care facility that will provide the level of care that Josh needs to expedite his recovery and to help him get strong again. Josh has made some big improvements, but still has a long road of recovery ahead of him. His family is so grateful for all of the prayers and help that has been given to them over the last month.
