Josh is doing well today, no major changes to report yet but he has been comfortable and all of his tests and x-rays have come back looking good. We are waiting to see if anything grows on the culture they took last night from his lungs when they suctioned them out. When I got back from seeing the kids tonight the nurse said that he was awake for his bath and was following commands, which for him is squeezing hands and blinking eyes. He is healing during his resting this weekend, I really feel like the new antibiotics are helping. Today they were able to turn the ventilator down from 60% to 40% which is great. 40% is where he needs to be. The peep is still at 7.5 and he needs to get to a 5, the peep is pressure if I remember right. The doctor told me the other day that I know to much, he doesn't like when people are here so long they get an education. I have certainly learned a lot from our stay here in the ICU.
I was thinking today about love, I have never before in my life felt so much love fill my soul. It is overwhelming to think that people I have never met care so much. Thank you Norb for bringing over the envelope from our Express Metals family in Oklahoma. I felt bad that I didn't open it while you were here, but after I opened it I was a little glad that I waited. I wouldn't have wanted you see me cry like I did. I have had as many good tears as I have had sad tears now. I want to remember this feeling of love forever, it is very humbling and powerful. It brings tears to my eyes as I write about it now. I am so thankful for Express Metals and all they have done for my family. I want so much to share these things with Josh, I miss him more every day. I want him to know how much people love him, he needed this in his life (the love). Funny as it may sound I have never loved Josh as much as I do right now, to see him struggling breaks my heart. I pray now that as he is resting his body will heal enough from his pneumonia to be able to breath on his own again next week. We are very blessed to have wonderful family, wonderful ward family and wonderful St George Steel/Express Metals family and many great friends. Thank you all so much for everything, Love to all Denise
Denise,
ReplyDeleteI was shocked to read about josh being in the hospital, our family will be praying for him.
my dad got really bad double neumonia a few years ago, he got pluracy in both lungs, and he had to have a chest tube put in,he also was on pure oxygen for 2 weeks, the doctor told him he was the sickest person in the entire hospital. but with prayers, antibiotics, and time to heal and rest he got better. If anyone can kick this, it is josh. We will put his name on the prayer role up here at provo temple or mt. timp temple, or maybe both.:) we will put you and your families name on the prayer roll as well.
when he gets feeling a little better tell him we are thinking about you guys.
Sincerely,
Don & Rae Campbell
