Today has gone by fast, Josh had an MRI to find out why his arm is having trouble moving. The nurse said it showed that he has a bulging disc between c4 and c5 in his neck. The doctor hasn't come yet to confirm anything or talk about treatment. He was just so tired after going to MRI that they wanted to let him rest and wait until tomorrow to get him off the vent. So hopefully tomorrow is the big day. They will still do some tests to confirm that he is ready. Josh has been communicating more today, some of his hand movements are hard to understand. We were having trouble and got a board that he can point to that has different things he may want or need. It has the alphabet and he spelled shoe. He settled for socks in the long run. I really hope tomorrow is the day, it is hard not to have a conversation with him.
I am tired today, didn't sleep much last night. Josh was asleep last night and as I was gathering my stuff to go find a spot to sleep he woke up and so I stayed another hour. I felt bad leaving him he seemed worried so I stayed and talked to him. I am praying that Josh will be ready tomorrow to be off the ventilator. I think once he is off it things will start moving faster. That is the goal for now, then get him strong again. Thank you everyone for everything! Love to all, Denise
HI again Denise
ReplyDeleteI am so hopeful that things will go well tomorrow with the removale of the vent tube so Josh can communicate with you and so you can get another kiss from him. I hope the doctor can give you some good news about his arm and his vertibra. You, Josh and the kids are in my thought all of the time and also in my prayers also. I am so thankful for the help that you have received from friends, family and from the ward family. You live in such a good area with a lot of very special people and at this time I am so thankful for that also.
I love you Denise for your courage and the person that you are.
