Roller coaster ride

Today has been just that, starting at 1:00 this morning. Josh's heart rate and blood pressure went up again, high as I have seen it. He is still breathing really hard as well. The doctor wanted to rule out a blood clot in his lungs so he went for a CT. No clot, thank goodness! So they put him on more meds to help his vitals and they also started him on a Cpat ( I hope that's right ) machine to help to force his lungs to expand all the way and also to get enough oxygen. It is just a mask that goes over his face. It helps with his oxygen levels but he is still breathing very hard. He had an x-ray done on his left arm to see if it might be broke, but it was good. He also had another CT late this afternoon to check out his belly because the one last night showed a small amount of blood around his kidneys. The second CT came back ok, it's good to have some good news. The CT he had early this morning of his lungs showed that he has pneumonia. The doctor says it's not a huge set back. They had to give him a little blood tonight because it was low, due to the bleeding. So far he is doing well with the breathing machine they have him on, however if things change he will go back on ventilation.

So that is today, it has been a bit hard. It is hard to see him struggle, he is breaking a sweat from just breathing. He has been started on some new antibiotics and so I am praying they help him sooner than later. I am thankful my mom is back to help with the kids, and I am thankful to all who helped while she was gone. I am thankful to my friends who have taken the time to bring us meals and clean and do yard care.  I really have no idea how long this is going to go. It would be nice to say we only had x amount of days left. It has been 16 days now and we are still in the ICU. Could be awhile yet before that changes. Thanks to all the great nurses and doctors here, I love them for taking such good care of Josh. Thanks everyone for everything! Please keep praying for Josh, loves Denise
