Today Josh was able to have a shower! It was so good for him, he sat in a chair and was able to do a lot of it himself. He smells good, not that he smelled bad before. It pretty much wiped him out, although he only dozed off for just a minute after. This morning he had jello, pudding and a cracker. He did great, and they said on Monday they are going to order him a breakfast tray. He is a little slow to answer questions sometimes so they are working with his brain to help him with that. I was told that liver damage can sometimes affect your brain, but I really feel like he will be back to normal in no time. In fact he had no trouble answering some basic math questions that the therapist thought he would have trouble with. He just has to think longer than usual once in awhile to be able to say what he wants. He is getting stronger every time they work him, he stood again for just a few seconds but I could tell that he was stronger than last time. He also fed himself some pudding later in the afternoon, he is really doing well so far.
I went over to my mom's for about 2 hrs today to spend time with my sweet baby, who is not really a baby anymore. It is so good to have him here to love on, it makes my day to see him as well as all the good things Josh is doing. It is good for Josh to talk so I have been asking him lots of questions, he gives me funny looks at times. I think it will be good for Josh to see all of the kids, they will be coming up next weekend. I am so excited to see them too. I want to spend some time with them here with Josh but I also want to spend some time with them doing something fun, we all need to laugh a little and have some fun together, it has been way to long. Not really sure what to do with them yet, I guess I have a week to decide. I can't wait to see them! I really want to thank everyone again for all that has been and continues to be done for our family. This has been extremely hard on all of us, I am so grateful for everyone who has helped in any way to make this a little easier to bare. And also for all of the prayers, I know that Josh is were he is today because of them. Love to all, Denise
So glad to hear good news Denise. Tell Josh we are so glad he's here.
