Thursday Oct. 27th

I fell asleep at my laptop last night! So yesterday was a good day, things have started to happen for Josh. He was able to eat some applesauce and diced peaches. He did really good and they said that he would probably be eating in the next couple of days. That would be a very good thing since he pulled out yet another feeding tube and had to have it put back in yesterday. They now have him in a soft restraint on the arm he can move, I don't like seeing him tied down. It is only until the feeding tube comes out, so lets hope it will be very soon. Physical therapy came in to see him and where is at, they were impressed after seeing him because from his chart they were expecting him to be in a worse condition. They did some exercises with him and then they even stood him up! It was brief but it was good to see him stand, I asked him if it felt good and he said no, probably weird after being in bed for a month.  I am excited for today to see what things will happen and how he will improve.

Today both our little sisters came in to see Josh for the first time, it was good to see them both. My mom also brought our little Asher in, I put him right next to Josh on the bed, it was good for both of them. He said I lub you daddy and gave him a kiss, so cute. Josh pounds on the side of the bed with his good arm, I really don't like to have him tied down. It looks like they are going to take him down to the shower today, I bet that will feel so good. The physical therapist said that she thinks he will only need a couple of weeks 2 to 3 maybe. Then at that point he would be ready to go to a rehab that will work him 2 to 3 hours a day. Then he can come home, it would be nice if we were at least back in St George before Thanksgiving so that we could be near the kids. Thanks so much for all of your continued prayers, we can feel them and they keep us moving forward, Loves Denise

  1. YAY Josh....keep up that fiestyness....I think it helps with the healing! You guys continue to be in our thoughts and prayers and we sure hope your back home by Thanksgiving too! I'm not sure if anyone at the hospital has told you about Angel flight.....it's a program that let's you fly back and forth for free with pilots who donate their time and airplanes. While I was in treatment in SLC we had to come up 3 times a week and we used Angel flight to get back and forth. It was such a blessing and saved us SO MUCH precious time and resources! The case manager at LDS should be able to give the info if they haven't already. Just thought I would pass that info along as it's an AMAZING program and makes travel between here and there SOOOO much more manageable! We love you guys!!!! Kristen & Kasey
